About Us
|
Joseph & Josephine’s Maui is a social entrepreneurship venture inspired by our great-grandparents, Joseph and Josephine Marciel. During the early 1900’s, Joseph and Josephine raised 14 children on our 78-acre homestead, situated in the rural community of Kaupō, Maui.
As young children, we spent our best summers there - picking bucketloads of mango, avocado, papaya, banana and citrus fruits of innumerable variety. We hiked up waterfalls, rolled down mountains, and frolicked amidst the wildlife that inhabited our own private, peaceful, paradise. |
Purpose
Today, we’ve come to understand that our homestead is a living example of a sustainable agroecosystem. We seek to protect this legacy by fostering leadership opportunities and economic incentives for family members, landowners, and neighbors. We aim to do so with integrity, respect for our neighbors, and a diversified business model that will inspire generations to come.
Vision
Joseph & Josephine’s will serve as a model of a thriving social entrepreneurship venture that embodies the values of a modern homestead within a rural community. We value:
- Self-Sufficiency
- Sustainable Agriculture
- Conservation
- Social Responsibility
