Legacy Planning

Picture
Legacy Planning  is all about going beyond the standard legal documents to help others take a more holistic look at their life, their legacy, and their estate.

Drawing from our experience in social work, law, and design, we provide the tools, strategies and conversations to help your family engage in meaningful and culturally-relevant legacy planning.
  • Preserve waiwai (wealth) for future generations.
  • Record oral histories and mo'olelo (stories).
  • Communicate family values & strengths.
  • Prepare for the unexpected.

While we do not provide legal advice, we help clients with their estate planning needs by coordinating with licensed attorneys.

Legal Documents

Studies have shown that standard forms do little to influence decisions without:
  • informed, thoughtful reflection about your wishes and values, and
  • personal communication between you and your likely decision-makers before a crisis occurs.

Family Archives

What do our possessions say about us? More specifically, what do they say about our past, present and our future?
Documents, photographs, heirlooms, scrapbooks, recipes and a whole range of other items “reveal insights” into past generations, and preserve family stories.

Research

By conducting research, you may learn things about your family origins that you never knew before.

Learning the history of our ancestors helps us gain a greater understanding of the challenges they faced, and it often inspires greater love and compassion for their flaws and mistakes.
